Snowbird: January 29-February 1, 2009
The Canyons: February 26-March 1, 2009
Alta: April 2-5, 2009

Ski To Live is for all level skiers, snowboarders and telemarkers who want to learn more about who they are as athletes, and as human beings, in a powerful, ground-breaking experience.
Through on-mountain coaching which focuses on the mental and wisdom side of our sports, and evening Big Mind interactions—Ski To Live will help you find true motivation in skiing, snowboarding and your life, reinforce and create broader perspectives of your self and lead you on a journey that will affect your life forever.
Skiing and snowboarding aren't just about family get-aways, expensive real estate or partying—even though the outdoor industry promotes them as such. That image seems to really miss it's mark. Surf culture gets it- these sports are also an opportunity to create friendships, be both irreverent or reverent at the same time, laugh your ass off and experience exactly who and what you are as a human being through an unfiltered interaction with nature.
"I've had people tell us Ski To Live was the most important experience of their lives. That's what kind of energy we're tapping into. I hope you decide to join us for a Ski to Live clinic or for a private experience, and prepare to be astounded." - Kristen

What to Expect
Expect to leave feeling like you've just had a one-month vacation, for starters.
As for the rest- all this talk about the mental and wisdom sides of skiing and boarding, Zen, yoga, Big Mind blah blah- what the heck are you signing up for anyway? USA Today said these are the only events of their kind in the world, in any sport, so it's difficult to compare STL to anything- or certainly know what to expect.
Let's start with what STL is not. Ski To Live is not affiliated with any religion, Buddhism or otherwise—although religious folks are certainly encouraged to attend. STL is not about psychology; you will not be expected to talk about your mother or your childhood. Nor is it "new-agey"—in fact STL may be the antithesis of the new age movement in that it's seeped in ancient wisdom- nothing new about it (although enthusiasts might find our approach fascinating).
What these programs offer, instead, is different for each person who attends, reflecting the differences in their history, preferences, where they are in their lives and what they're looking for.
Some attend because they want to learn how to ski faster, catch air or finally rip the bumps. Some attend because they experience too much fear while skiing and want to take a hard, real look at why. Some attend because their experience with these sports is changing and they're curious to discover what comes next.
Some attend because they know what a valuable, passionate part of their lives these sports can be and they'd like to bring such consciousness into jobs, relationships and self-understanding.
And others attend because they want to access and blow open their minds to exactly who they are as human beings and why they're on this planet, all while skiing the best snow on earth.
So, back to our question, what to expect? Try all of the above, but in a big, big way. These programs are intense, fun, supremely intelligent, and will influence the way you see just about everything. We've found a way to let people be whomever they are, participate in whatever capacity they'd like, and discover their own reasons for attending without being steered in any one direction or without any confrontation or struggle. And they work—over 90% of the guests recognize Ski To Live as one of the most important experiences of their lives.
Expect to meet a pile of new friends too, and to leave with stronger, gorgeous muscles.
The Schedule In Brief
Thursday night:
This is an important gathering to meet the group and set the tone for the experience you'll be having. Please don't miss this first night. Please boot your schedule so you can make it on time.
Friday through Sunday:
Yoga, great food, great people, skiing in like groups for 4 hours each day with carefully selected coaches and Kristen Ulmer, where guidance is based more on the mental and spiritual side of our sports, versus purely technical tips. Some chill time is also set up to either ski more (6 hours skiing a day possible), hang with new friends, or go to the spa. In the evenings we spend time in a warm, comfortable environment exploring the human experience through Big Mind. Guest facilitators will join us periodically, as well.
Big Mind is a simple, facilitated dialog which allows practitioners to access consciousness from both an ego-centered perspective and a universal perspective. We can discover the True Master within, learn how to effortlessly tap into innate wisdom and compassion, and explore our lives and sports cleanly, simply and with great clarity through this dialog. Dinners follow so the group can laugh and discuss our days and lives. Sunday night we finish with a party to celebrate the time we've had together.
On Monday, seeing as how it's difficult to return back to work and "real" life right away (it's a tough transition), many people choose to stay and ski or board another day with their new friends.
Locals Note: If you're not staying at the hotel, meals or other considerations can be arranged.
Thanks for your interest, and sharing with me a passion for exploring skiing, snowboarding and your life. See you on the mountain.
